One of the highly anticipated projects in Malayalam cinema is complete actor Mohanlal Starrer Marakkar Arabikadalinte Simham. The movie was gearing up for the grand release on March 20 this year but Covid-19 followed by countrywide lockdown has hindered the release. Now the latest reports predict that the movie’s release date has postponed indefinitely and sources also revealed that the project will hit screens only after the release of Drishiyam 2.
It is mainly due to the movie is made on a whopping budget and a grand solo worldwide release is the only option to make profits. Sources close to producer Antony Perumbavoor who is also bankrolling Mohanlal’s recently announced project Drishiyam 2 and Priyadarshan’s directional venture with Mohanlal states that he has decided to release Drishyam 2 first. Aiming for the grand solo release is not possible particularly at this point and the Mohanlal-Priyadarshan project has also pushed indefinitely. Shooting for Drishyam 2 will commence from August 17 and it is a smaller movie made on a moderate budget. The makers are planning to release the movie once the lockdown ends and theatres open.
