Superstar Rajinikanth Starrer movie darbar was released on January 10th this year. The movie marks the first union of director AR Murugadoss and superstar Rajinikanth. The cop drama also featured Nayanthara, Sunil Shetty Pratik Babbar, Nivetha Thomas, and yogi babu in crucial roles. The movie got released in 7000 screens worldwide and 4000 screens across India. The movie was released with amid expectations among the audience because Rajinikanth was featuring in a cop drama after nearly 2 decades. The movie failed to enter into the 200-crore club and suffered heavy losses. The average cop drama with the normal screenplay is the root cause of the failure and the fans didn’t expect this kind of an average entertainer from director AR Murugadoss.

Final verdict:

The movie was made on whopping 220-crores and has collected only 198 crores which makes the producer Lyca productions suffer 28-crore loss. The major reason for the loss is due to the heavy salary package offered by Lyca productions for superstar Rajinikanth and director AR Murugadoss.
